KEY WEST has two types of short term rental programs. These programs are governed by the City of Key West and the various condominiums around town. Different apartments and homes are declared to be allowed 7 nights or 28 nights minimum rental periods based on whether an owner has a transient occupational license or not. Longer periods are ok in all units up to 6 months. Rentals 6 months and longer are considered long term rentals or leases and do not require the 11% taxs. 

The main tourist season runs from December through April and as the season nears, vacancies become scarce. Bookings for the following season start in April and the months of January, February and March are pretty well booked up by August. There are always a few scattered times left here and there and reservations change from time to time. So, if you are considering staying anywhere in Key West you need to make your reservations early.

KEY WEST BY THE SEA is very unique in that it traditionally has the lowest prices for vacation rentals in Key West. As you can see by the enclosed price list our rates are unbelievable. What makes our rates even more incredible is we have numerous listings in one of only a few locations directly on the beach.

We have listings in one of the only two condominiums in the 120 miles of the keys that have daily government maintained beaches.  Furthermore, since the beach restoration, we have one of the widest sandy beaches in the keys.

The apartments are not hotel suites but rather individual, private, condominiums and homes. Therefore, they are each different.  I require certain minimum standards in the way of furnishings and amenities in short term rentals.  There are different classifications of types of units with varying prices accordingly. The rates vary according to number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, amenities, views, furnishings, seasons, condition and owner requirements.
